For this installment of Your Weekly Fix: Style advice from a beautiful woman, we have Zoe Jay from Elpromotions.

Zoe is a Midlands and London-based model who has been modelling for 11 years after originally being spotted at ‘Clothes Show Live’. 

At the beginning of her career, she was self-admittedly shy but now loves the camera and tells us modelling has increased her confidence and self-esteem.

Zoe has modelled on the catwalk - including London Fashion Week - and has appeared in many commercials. 

She has also been involved in numerous modelling projects.

Here’s her advice for our readers:

What do you think is a classic sense of style for a man? What type of style are you attracted to (i.e how they dress, how they look, etc.)?

Sophisticated and business like.  That’s what attracts me to a man. 

When a man wears a suit, or even just a smart shirt and trousers, to me their looks improve tenfold.  It shows they take pride in their appearance.  Even better still when they are cleanly shaven (no neck hair either boys! – yuk!). 

Although I love a man who looks smart I’d rarely be attracted to a man who wears masses of hair gel and one that looks in the mirror constantly at themselves, thats a big no no.

Hmmm.  I wonder if pomade counts?

For today’s installment of Your Weekly Fix: Style advice from a beautiful woman, we have the “wish she really was the girl next door” girl, Katilin Tierney.

Katilin is a small town girl who moved to the big city for a better opportunity.

Modeling is a new found love for her and she enjoys working with photographers that have tasteful ideas.   She is also currently a full-time office administrator at a medical clinic in Southern California.

Throughout the work week, Katilin finds dealing with various office issues makes her life a little stressful.

According to her, it’s often nice to unwind in front of a camera.  (That’s great news for us.)

Additionally, Katilin enjoys working out, running, hiking and anything outdoors.  She’s notoriously competitive and can often be seen playing sports such as softball, volleyball, and basketball.

Bonus points for all you gearheads out there - Katilin is an avid car girl and owns a… wait for it…. Corvette which she considers her pride and joy.

You’ll often find her working on her car in the garage rather than working on a meal in her kitchen.

And no, we won’t give you her number just because she is your dream girl.  Here’s her advice for our readers.

What are things a man should do when they are on a date?

Take charge! You’re taking her out.

• Ask what kind of food she likes and then make a decision from that. An indecisive man is unattractive.
• Always remember to smile. Women are strange, exotic, intuitive creatures, and we respond well to positive reinforcement. What may be a simple smile to you can melt her heart!
• Ask questions. This seems obvious right? Some men like to talk about themselves, and some men don’t talk very much at all. Women like attention. Ask a question and listen to her answer. It’s that simple!
• Use flattery, appropriately. Don’t call her beautiful, pretty, or gorgeous while she’s taking a bite, drinking from her wine glass, or in the middle of saying a sentence… that can be very awkward… and rude. Always mind your manners.
• Take care of the bill without comment.
• When your date has come to an end, make it a point ask if she enjoyed it. Be a gentleman; walk her to her door, give her a hug and say goodnight.

For this week’s installment of Your Weekly Fix, we have Elpromotions model Chloe Harvey.  Oddly enough, her goals for this year are very similar to ours.

Chloe Harvey is a full-time Model that recently moved back to Manchester after living for the past two years in Beirut, Lebanon where she started her modeling career.

In the past few years as a photo and runway model, she has been featured in Beirut Fashion Week and the L’oreal Hair Show two years in a row.

What are things a man should never wear?

Jesus sandals with socks are a definite no-no.   Actually, ANY sandals-with-socks look is a definite “no”.

Additionally, pedicures aren’t only for girls.   A guy friend of mine once told me he can tell how clean and well groomed a girl is by the state of her nails.

Guess what gentlemen – girls notice these things too.

Being a guy is no excuse for having poorly groomed feet.  Trim back the nails and freshen up your look if you plan on wearing sandals this summer!

Despite being a model for Elpromotions, Naomi King is an artist at heart and just recently graduated with a degree in illustration.

She loves to draw and paint, considers herself a bit of a hippy and is at her happiest in the outdoors camping, exploring new places and looking at the stars.

She admits that now her school days are over she’s trying to become a bit more glamorous.

What advice can you give a man when it comes to style?

Always wear something you like and feel good in.

I would say you should go for classic pieces and let your personality subtly shine through without loud accessories. Simplicity is often so flattering.

For me there’s nothing better than a good-quality white t-shirt and blue jeans.

I’ve not yet seen any man who can pull off a low v-neck even if they do have the physique, and very baggy jeans should only be used as overalls, but most of the time if you look clean, fresh and comfortable in your own skin you’ll be fine!

Low v-necks are passe anyway.  It’s high time for the “Doble Vey“.

What advice can you give a man when it comes to style?

The advice I would give to a man when styling is this: Don’t try too hard, it’s not good to have too many things going on at once.

You can’t really go wrong with a classic look, such as smart black or grey tailored trousers with a plain black or white shirt…  Preferably with the sleeves rolled up a little!!

Hmmm… wonder if it is still cool if we roll it up with a pack of cigarettes?

What do you think is a classic sense of style for a man?

A classic sense of style in my opinion is the quality of a man’s clothes.

It is always clear to me when a man has invested in what he is wearing - especially shoes, expensive shoes and coats stand out.

For a man, I think accessories can complete an outfit and give him an edge, a cravat or classic hat looks sexy, particularly on the younger men that have the confidence to pull it off.

If you have the confidence, everything will suit you.

Oh and men should never, ever wear Ugg boots.

Lucky we just recently threw ours away.

Most people have a “bucket list”.

You know, things you want to do before you die, like skydiving, driving a sports car and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.  Quite honestly, most people have these lists but seldom do they actually finish anything that is on that list.

In our opinion, much better than a bucket list is a list of goals you want to accomplish in a year.

Since the end of 2011 is coming up, this is a perfect time to put one together.  Here are 5 reasons why:

Reason #5 you should create a list of goals for the year: Focus

Ever wonder what they hell you are doing with your life or where it is going?  It’s probably because you didn’t have a roadmap to begin with.

By creating a list of goals (both personal and professional), you can have a target to reach for.  It will help you make decisions on what to do.

Want to buy a house this year?  Take less trips to Vegas.  Want to get yourself a girlfriend? Start showering. Want to get yourself a sports car? Get a better job and start making more money.

Reason #4 you should create a list of goals for the year: A sense of accomplishment

To be honest I occassionally forget about the goal list I created at the beginning of the year.

When I do remember about it throughout the year, I open up that Word file and see what I wrote.  Every year I get surprised about the things I accomplished without even thinking about it.

I cross out goals as I achieve them in the middle of the year and then tally it up at the end of the year.  It’s always nice to see I got most of the list done.

Except, of course, for the conversational Spanish goal I put down every year.  Maybe this year will be different.

Reason #3 you should create a list of goals for the year: It’s better than a New Year’s Resolution

New Year’s Resolutions are weak.

You typically won’t stick to them and they will barely last a month.  For something that works, write down a list of goals that you can do over the year.

Want to lose weight?  Plan to lose that 10 lbs. in 6 months.  Want to save some money?  If you put away $100 a month, you will have $1,200 at the end of the year. Want to start that business?  Make the business plan in Q1, get a business loan in Q2 and start the business in Q3.

Our advice – list out short term, mid-term and long term goals so you can cross them off as you get them finished.  It will help you stay on track.

Reason #2 you should create a list of goals for the year: It will help you dream big

We here at ESM are huge fans of dreaming big.

The first time I ever started writing a list of goals for the upcoming year, I had these goals as part of the list:

• Get an S4
• Go to Europe
• Save $10,000

The crazy part? I was just about to graduate from college. 

I knew I wasn’t going to achieve these goals, but hey, you never know.  Just carry over those “dream big” items to the following year if you don’t achieve them.

Once you do, dream bigger for the following year.

Just make sure you also add in some goals that are achievable so you’ve got some things to cross off at the end of the year, like:

• Repaint living room
• Get a dog
• Get a raise

We know it’s been a while, but we’re glad our man The Strategist turned things around. 

Introducing Rachel Tan, our next installment for our article series “Your Weekly Fix”.  She’s beautiful, can kick your ass in martial arts and is very, very special.

Rachel is originally from Ontario, Canada (where she was born and raised) and currently resides in sunny Southern California.

If you’ve seen her on the dance floor, she looks like your average girl that has mad rhythm and can dance to any beat.

You would never guess Rachel was actually born deaf.

Although no one has ever determined the cause to her deafness, her disability has never stopped her from always reaching her goals.

Don’t let her innocent face fool you either, because she is strong for her size. She trains in martial arts like kickboxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Rachel Tan always reaches her goals regardless of the challenge.

Rachel’s passions include baking, modeling and acting.  She also loves animals, learning new things and is very down to earth.

What advice can you give a man when it comes to style?

To be honest with you, it is all about who you are and what you feel comfortable wearing.

I wouldn’t want a man to wear a certain brand or something trendy just because his friends do. I like a man who has a classic sense of style.

And please, no skinny jeans. 

Ultimately, a man can have different styles and it should always depend on what the occasion is.

Rachel isn’t the first to advise us about the whole skinny jeans trend.  Lucky we only have one pair.

Ever been so mad that you wanted to yell at someone? What about so mad that you wanted to get physically violent?

Before you go down that route, ESM offers up a much better solution to your problems.  Instead of a short term, temporary solution to your problem (which could potentially lead to incarceration), go the long term route.

Don’t get mad.  Don’t yell.  Don’t do something stupid.

Instead, focus all that energy on doing one thing – becoming successful.

Because for us here at ESM, the best revenge is not served cold.  The best revenge is to be more successful than you could have ever imagined.

Although succeeding in your life usually doesn’t need a reason, we’ve got 5 good reasons you should choose success as the long term satisfaction to exact revenge on your opponent.

Reason #5 Success is the Best Revenge: Your Ex

Remember that girl (or dude – depending on your preference) that broke up with you and shattered your heart because she thought you weren’t good enough?  What about that girl that left you for someone else?

Forget about stalking.  Don’t even think about writing letters.  Use that painful memory to become ridiculously awesome.

Just ask ESM Icon Barney Stinson.  He got over his heartache by “suiting up” and becoming who he is today.  When he finally met up with the girl that broke his heart, he got his revenge.

Reason #4: Anyone that doubted you

Ever had that former employer that thought you weren’t cut out for a job?  What about that colleague that thought they were much better than you?  What about your friend that thought you couldn’t do it?

Just let it all fuel that fire of success.  And let that fire BLAZE.

Reason #3: The ultimate satisfaction

Angry words are a temporary solution.  Angry thoughts of you doing angry things aren’t constructive.

Get the ultimate satisfaction of knowing you have forged yourself into a better person.  This feeling never goes away when you are successful.

Reason #2: The positive side-effects

We mentioned money and power could be side-effects in striving for success (not too shabby).

The less superficial side-effects?  Happiness.  Satisfaction with your life.  Surrounding yourself with better people.  Awesomeness (did we say that already?).

Reason #1: You

Bro, you should be the reason you want to be successful.

Why beat yourself up?  Why be sad?  Why not pick yourself up and show everyone what you can do by being successful?

So the next time someone pisses you off, instead of doing something silly and small that will probably have no effect on them, do something much better – become insanely successful.

That’ll show ‘em.

Alright, so you’ve finally fought through the pressures and indecisions to find a Christmas present for women in your life but need one for your guys, or you’re shopping for your boyfriend and want to get him something more interesting than the Swiss-Army knife + wallet kit or comfy t-shirt.

Either way, you realize time is running out, and everyone’s low on cash from Black Friday deals and big item purchases, leaving you to be creative and frugal. But before you seek out creativity and relief at the bottom of the bottle, get him just that: a beer growler.

But listen, this isn’t your ordinary beer bottle. This glass container of brewed wonder has been 200 years in the making and dates all the way back to the 1800s.

First born as a tin pail, men would take their growlers to the local saloon and have them filled to enjoy in their own home. It’s thought that “growler” comes from the rumbling sound of the CO2 escaping the lid on the trip home, but it’s also rumored that the growling came from worker’s hungry stomachs yearning for hoppy goodness.

Nonetheless, a brilliant idea.

Fast forward to the 1980s, and growlers make a comeback when the Otto Brothers began using today’s curved glass jug with a more secure screw cap. Just like the old days, take your new favorite little jugs to the nearest brewery and they’ll fill it with their finest craft brew. And as long as it has the surgeon’s warning on the side, all (unbiased) breweries should top you off.

Typically in 1 liter (32oz) and ½ gallon (64oz) sizes, beer growlers cost around $5 and then the filling price that varies with beer quality.

No matter the beer’s cost, with no brewer canning or distribution costs, you’re guaranteed to save money.

Last weekend I spent a total of $5 filling the growler with an American Pale Ale. The cost of the same amount in the store? $16. I’m not good at math, but that’s ten bucks guaranteed to make your buddy happy every time.

Now, you might question what the benefits of filling a huge jug with draft beer when shelf life is much lower than a 12 pack. I mean, a growler will last about two weeks before the bubbles fizz out, and lasts only a few days once temptation wins over your sipping urges. As terrible as it sounds, this is actually a benefit. Because you probably shouldn’t drink four pints in one sitting, your growler-recipient is bound to invite you to share a drink or two. Add a few more growlers and you have yourself a great football Sunday or poker night.

So whether you’re on a tight budget, shopping for a man of interest, or just want to feel like giving a manly gift, give the gift of your great great great grandfather and stop by the nearest brewery for a beer growler.

You, your friend, and both your intelligible thirsts will not be disappointed.

If you love going to Las Vegas as much as we do, we’re pretty sure this idea has crossed your mind: What if we did Vegas for Thanksgiving this year?

And for one reason or another, you’ve crossed the idea off as a bad one.

As “Vegas for Thanksgiving” veterans (we’ve been doing it for the last 4 or 5 years), we’re here to tell you the idea is actually pretty good.

Obviously we wouldn’t recommend it if you have a big family that is expecting you for the big day (that would be irresponsible) or if you’ve got young kids (that would be really, really irresponsible), but if you’ve got the time, the resources and are missing the aforementioned responsibilities, here are ESM’s 5 reasons why you should spend your next Thanksgiving in Las Vegas:

Reason #5: It’s Vegas

C’mon guys, as if you needed a reason to go back to Vegas.  It’s the city loved by ESM Icon Frank Sinatra and the place you did that thing, at the club, with your friends…

You know what we’re talking about.  We don’t need to mention it in public.

Reason #4: It’s not as packed as other weekends

Lots of Vegas locals and people who normally go to Vegas spend their Thanksgiving holiday away from Las Vegas to be with their families.

When we’ve spent our Thanksgivings in Las Vegas, we’ve noticed the town to be a proverbial ghost town.  Ask any server and they’ll tell you – Vegas is dead for Thanksgiving.

Why is this a good thing? 

Simple – you have more room to play.

Reason #3: Rooms are cheap

Ever wanted to check out Bellagio, Wynn or the Cosmopolitan but didn’t have the bankroll to stay at those establishments?

With the town not expecting people during the Thanksgiving holiday, hotels drop their rates significantly.  How significant?  Try one-half to a third of what you would normally pay.

Balling on a budget!  Holla!

Reason #2: You can watch shows you have never seen before

On a regular Vegas weekend, visitors typically try to pack in 800 things on their Vegas to-do list over a weekend. 

In fact, we’re pretty sure during your most recent Vegas visit you’ve seen the signs for shows that, given the opportunity, you would like to watch.

With Thanksgiving being a 4 day weekend (5 if you take a day off), you can watch all the shows you’ve always wanted to see.

We’ve seen everything from Jubilee! to Matt Goss to the show we watched on our most recent trip – The Rat Pack is Back at the Rio Hotel. 

Why not, right?

This week’s edition in preparing for the zombie apocalypse, a survival tool essential: a blunt force tool.

The blunt (Hulk smash!!!) caveman tool is another all-rounder one should always have in a survival kit - and it doesn’t even need to be acquired for a zombie survival scenario.

If you live in an earthquake prone area, like California, a hammer should definitely make it into your emergency pack should you need to break your way in or out of some rubble.

Unfortunately, a traditional hammer is so…. carpenter.
