Remember when the Audi A5/S5 first came out in 2007?

It was the business.

The LED lights, the beauty and simplicity of the design, the all-around newness of the car seemed to breathe a breath of fresh air back into automotive design.

Being on the first Iron Man movie didn’t hurt either.

To be honest, I was a little worried that car tuners would bastardize the car with upgrades that would screw up the design.

In my opinion, all the car needed was a badass set of wheels, lower it a bit and you’re ready to rock-and-roll.

That is why we were so happy to see these pictures of this white Audi S5 with 20″ SP-SC 20 DPE Wheels in a two-tone finish.

The deep concave makes our bodies shudder every time we look at it.

For this week’s installment of RUN DPE, we have a silver Ferrari 458 Italia for your consideration.

As our friend Jojo from DPE Wheels once told us:

With every personal project vehicle of mine my blueprint is always the same: create a vehicle that looks as if it came off the assembly line from the car manufacturer, but on steroids.

This 458 Italia is a perfect example of this philosophy – clean, simple, better.

To start with, the Ferrari 458 Italia by itself is no slouch.  According to the Ferrari 458 Italia Wikipedia entry:

The 458 Italia is powered by a 4.5 L (270 cu in) V8 engine derived from a shared Ferrari/Maserati design, producing 570 PS (419 kW; 562 hp) at 9,000 rpm (redline) and 540 N·m (398 lb·ft) at 6,000 rpm with 80% torque available at 3,250 rpm. The engine features direct fuel injection, which is a first for Ferrari mid-engine setups in its road cars. The 4.5 L V8 in the 458 currently holds the world record for most power per liter in a naturally aspirated engine.

Additionally, when we spoke to Jojo about the details regarding the wheels for this silver 458 Italia, he told us the owner slapped on SP-SC5 (20″ front /21″ rear) brushed DPE Wheels.

Based on the pictures, we definitely agree with this wheel and fitment selection.

Remember when the Ferrari F430 first came out in 2004?  It was an exciting successor to the Modena 360 with a brand-spanking new design and insane engine.

According to the original Ferrari Press release:

The F430 signals the arrival of a brand new generation of Ferrari 8-cylinder  models. This new car takes Ferrari’s extraordinary achievements with aluminium technology, begun with the 360 Modena, to a whole new level, and offers a series of extremely significant innovations directly derived from the Ferrari Formula 1 single-seaters.

Two of these innovations are world firsts for production cars: the electronic differential (E-Diff) and the steering wheel-mounted switch (better known to the Formula 1 Scuderia’s drivers as “manettino”), which manages the integrated systems governing vehicle dynamics.

In our humble opinion, the Ferrari F430 is a car that will hold its own in the annals of history as one of the best and most beautiful ever created.

So what can make such an amazing car even better?

You lower the mutha and add 20″ DPE MT7 monoblock wheels in matte bronze.  Yeah, I think that will do it.

What I like about this particular color combo is how unusual it is.  Not a lot of people would risk such an uncommon wheel color for a car that still sells for at least $150,000.

For what it is worth – we are glad they took the risk.

Want to hear something crazy?

Whenever I see a picture of a Lamborghini Murcielago, the first thing I think of is that there are soooo many of them out there.

But in reality, how many do you actually see on the road?

Living in Los Angeles, I can probably count with one hand the amount of times I have seen a Murcielago after a month of driving around town.

Maybe we have just been desensitized by watching too many episodes of Cribs?  Who knows.

For this particular 2005 Bentley Continental GT, we’re glad the folks from VAD Tuning chose the latter. 

With a long list of customization specs such as engine tuning to 645BHP, a custom Lamborghini Grigio Telesto paint job, a Premier 4509 Wide Body Kit and (of course) the DPE SP-SCR10 from DPE Wheels in gloss black (front 22×10 with 265/30/22 and rear  22×13  with 335/25/22), we’re sure you will agree – this is one of the prettiest widebody Bentley Continental GT’s out there.

Feeling like a boss - Maybach with brand new 24" Elite 8 DPE Wheels.

When Jojo from DPE Wheels originally posted these images for the public, my first impression was “cool looking S-Class”.

For those who are in the know, this car is actually a 2004 Maybach.  A Maybach.

That’s like me seeing a picture of a supermodel and saying “she’s cute.”  This case of mistaken identity has everything to do with the incredible 24″ Elite 8 wheels from DPE Wheels. 

The proportions of the wheels are so perfect, it made the car look like a normal sized car in photos.

The Pininfarina styling of the Maserati Granturismo is something that is not only beautiful, but is timeless, elegant and museum-worthy.

You want to know what’s better than knowing it’s Friday?  It’s seeing the latest installment of Run DPE from Essential Style for Men!

For this week, we’ve got a black on black McLaren SLR on 20 inch MT-R10′s from DPE Wheels in a matte black finish. This car would definitely make Batman rethink his choice of rides for the evening.
