For today’s installment of YOUR WEEKLY FIX: Style advice from a beautiful woman, we have professional model and lifestyle blogger Lisa DiCiccio Cahue.
Lisa originally moved to New York city to study fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
7 Years ago (after working in various areas of the fashion industry), Lisa made the decision to pursue her true passion for modeling and is currently represented by Elite Models in New York.
Lisa’s specialty is working as a fit model for many designers.
More recently, Lisa started a fashion & lifestyle blog called Mind Body Swag and uses it as a creative outlet to showcase her daily looks and interests.
According to Lisa, “I am so passionate about fashion. Blogging has created a platform for me to inspire others and create a community of people who care about what you are doing and saying.”
In her free time, Lisa simply enjoys life, pursues an active lifestyle and travels as much as possible.
“It’s important for me to find balance between work (blogging is 24/7) and living life because I am a bit of a workaholic.”
And if being a full-time model and blogger wasn’t enough, Lisa also works as a Contributing Writer for Loehmann’s and collaborates with other media outlets.
“I feel very blessed to have these amazing opportunities come my way in such a short amount of time. I am also very excited about what is next for Mind Body Swag.”
Here’s Lisa’s style advice for our readers:
I love men’s clothing – especially very minimal, modern and basic looks.
My favorite style for a man is a classic t-shirt and great jeans. I think every man should invest in great fitting jeans. It’s very sexy when a guy can wear jeans, a t-shirt and either a blazer or leather jacket.
It’s my favorite look on a man!
My pet peeve is seeing men in clothing not tailored to fit them. This is especially true when it comes to wearing suits – if they are too long and baggy it doesn’t look flattering nor does it look professional.
I know this may sound weird, but for me shoes are the ultimate test when looking at a guy’s style.
My least favorite look? Flip-flops with jeans. That style doesn’t look good on any man. You are better off switching it up with a cool pair of sneakers, loafers or boots.
Finally, I think it’s important to be confident, stay true to your unique style and buy some key essentials that flatter your frame (in that order).
Because when a guy is confident and comfortable in his own skin, he can literally wear anything and make it work.
