There are 2 things that make every Essential Man of Style - Confidence and Savoir-faire.
Any man who masters these is as deadly as Bruce Lee with a pair of nunchuks.
Confidence is the most expensive suit you can ever own because you can’t even buy it… well, let me rephrase that – not EVERYONE can buy it.
Being comfortable in your own skin, confident in your abilities and accept who you are as a person is priceless and can spell the difference between ‘sexy’ and ‘dork’.
How do you build confidence? It’s simple and complex at the same time, says the Zen Master… but let me break it down for you:
- Focus on the positive. Is there anything that you can do exceptionally well? Making funny noises with your armpits doesn’t count.
- Don’t hate. Be a positive force in the universe and don’t be afraid to compliment others for doing good things.
- Surround yourself with awesome people. Hang out with other people who are positive.
- Lose bad mojo as soon as you can. See previous steps.
- Always seek to do great things. Sounds cheezy but it’s the real deal — do something that would make your mom proud today, no matter how small or simple.
Remember that building self-confidence is like hitting the gym — you have to keep at it to build it… and you have to maintain it if you have it.

Savoir-Faire on the other hand, literally means ”know how to do” and how to respond appropriately to any situation.
To respond appropriately to any situation, you must have the following:
- Experience. As the boys from brotips.com have said – “You can’t be old and wise if you were never young and stupid.”
- Knowledge. Obviously – don’t be a dumbass when faced with any situation. Play it smart.
- Patience. Do as Yoda would do in this situation – “Do or do not. There is no try.”
With both confidence and savoir-faire, not only will you become the man other people want to be, but rather the man you never knew you could be.
For us, we want to be a lot like The Most Interesting Man in the World. That dude is oozing confidence and savoir-faire 24/7.
