FASHION ESSENTIALS: The cable knit turtleneck
Now that the weather is getting a little colder it’s time to think about some fashion essentials that keep you warm and looking fresh.
One of these fashion essentials is the cable knit turtleneck. One of the earliest forms of these sweaters were created in Ireland and were known as “Aran Sweaters” – where patterns on these sweaters represented families of the area.
Unfortunately, the only patterns you will probably pick up at this time will mean “Gap” or “J. Crew”. Regardless of authenticity, the cable knit turtleneck will always be a good call when it gets cold outside.

F the Gap, I want one with a ‘waring Irish tribes battling each other’ pattern!
What about the "warring Gap and J. Crew tribes" pattern?
I am desperately searching for one of these sweaters for my bf for Vday. He has wanted one and been unable to find it for a while. I can’t find one anywhere. Do you know of a store where I could purchase one?
Hey Kate, we love these sweaters too! Unfortunately, you’re hitting the end of the winter season so all the new items in the stores will be for spring.
You might want to troll around your favorite men’s stores to see if they’ve got any on sale. I know H&M had a decent one for about $49 last December, but not sure if they still have it on their racks.
Who knows, you might get lucky and find your boyfriend the perfect sweater! Good luck!
