Meditation saved my life.

I know that’s a pretty bold thing to say, but if industry giants like Russel Simmons, Tony Robbins and celebrities like Katy Perry, Madonna, Hugh Jackman and Clint Eastwood swear by the practice, maybe you should consider the practice for yourself.

According to an article on The Huffington Post, meditation can help you in the following ways:

  • It helps reduce stress
  • It improves concentration
  • It increases happiness
  • It benefits cardiovascular and immune strength

I know what you’re thinking – bullshit – you don’t need that hippie, new-aged, transcendental weird stuff in your life.

But I swear, try it for a few days and you’ll be hooked.  And if it makes you less stressed, more happy and healthy for absolutely no money, why not give it a shot?

Where to start

There are a ton of books and videos out there available for anyone to start meditating and here’s a quick list from The Huffington Post.

The way I started was by listening to one of Tony Robbin’s albums on iTunes called The Edge.  The album covers a lot more, but one of the biggest things I got from listening to that album was what Tony called an “Hour of Power”, which was essentially a form of meditation.

For those of you who want the Cliff’s Notes version, it goes something like this:

  • Breathing
  • Think about what you’re grateful for
  • Plan out your day
  • Imagine your goals as if they were done
  • Incantations (or going over positive sayings with a lot of emotion)
  • Prayer (for whatever religion you’re in)

I know it sounds a little hokie, but I’ve definitely felt the benefits after a few months of continuous meditation.

But if you really wanted to break it down even further, Tony has a much shorter 10 minute version:

You want it even simpler?  No problem amigo – just spend 5 minutes at the beginning of every day thinking about what you are grateful for.

What it will affect


You’re going to feel better, healthier and happier.

I know it sounds crazy, but if you just try it for a little bit, you’re going to feel the changes and thank us later.
