Not going to lie, we’ve been spending almost every waking moment going through as much content as possible from Tony Robbins since we watched his documentary on Netflix.
It’s powerful, moving and makes you want to make some drastic changes in your life.
One of Tony’s big pieces of advice (if you’re familiar with his seminars) is his “Art of Fulfillment” – where he talks about giving back to give yourself a complete life. Because – according to him – “the more you get, the more you give” and in this life it’s “not about me, it’s about we.”
To some of you this may be some life coaching mumbo jumbo, but if you think about it, it’s true. Focusing on personal success will not lead to ultimate fulfillment because you really can’t take all that money with you. It’s about giving back to society and making an impact in other people’s lives.
So with the backgrounder out of the way, let’s talk about the “Giving Back” Diet. What’s it all about?
First off: a lot of us want to lose weight, right?
Have you ever ordered something on the menu that was way more than you could really eat? It’s well known the servings here in the United States are pretty massive compared to the rest of the world. In fact, it’s probably serving size that has attributed to the obesity problem here in the U.S.
So why not make a simple change when you eat out which will also give back to society:
- Get your knife and cut your meal in half
- Ask your server for a “to go” box
- Put the other half of your food in the “to go” box
- Give the other half to a homeless person
If you’ve ever looked at the calories of a typical meal when you go out, you’re probably looking at something in the range of 1,000-1,500 calories. To stick within a 2,000 calorie daily limit, you’re pretty much more than half way done when you eat one meal out. If you cut your meal in half, you can now eat 3 meals a day.
And you’re helping someone less fortunate out at the same time!
Not only will you eventually start losing weight, you’re giving back to the less fortunate members of society. We’re pretty sure you’ll feel pretty good about yourself for your body and your soul after you do it a couple of times.
