BLAME IT ON THE…: DeLeon Diamante Tequila

If you have been out and about at the hottest bars over the past year or so, you probably have seen the DeLeon Tequila bottle.
The beautifully designed bottle is enscribed with the family’s trademark DL and the heavy metal top is “hand-carved from a 1-pound ball of sterling silver by famed rock and roll jewelry designer Bill Wall and remains the most familiar iconic identifier of the brand (from www.deleontequila.com).”

The first time I had the chance to try the DeLeon Diamante tequila was at Chateau Marmont in Hollywood (yeah I name-dropped). My wife and I loved how the bottle looked and how the tequila tasted so much, we asked if we could take the empty bottle home with us.
The DeLeon family have been creating and developing their tequila “in the highlands of the Purisima del Here village… (they) have tended their fabrica here on the most pristine and ideal agave land possible. The location is ideal, situated in a mountainous region, rising higher than 7,500 feet above sea level. (taken from http://www.thelifeofluxury.com/ultra-premium-deleon-tequila/)”
If you are interested in getting yourself a bottle, it will cost you about $140. But trust me when I say this: it is totally worth every penny.
