We’ve been to our share of bars in our lifetime, but this is the first time we’ve been to a bar that made us feel like we just showed up to someone’s house party where:

  • You didn’t know the host of the party
  • Thought their place was pretty damn cool
  • Everyone there was welcoming, super relaxed and laid back

According to Lustre Pearl’s official website, they’re the ones who started the bar scene on Rainey Street in Austin Texas, where all the bars are built within old Austin homes.

Seriously – they all have patios, front doors, yards, back patios…. and they’ve even got neighbors who are cool enough to not call the cops from all the partying that is going on.

Aside from the ultra cool factor of feeling like you are at someone’s house, the Lustre Pearl:

  • Has a ping pong table, fooseball table and retro jukebox
  • Allows you to bring your dog to the bar
  • Has a taco stand that serves some pretty amazing tacos

If we were to describe the Lustre Pearl, Austin in a nutshell - we would describe it as your best pair of jeans that has been broken in from years and years of troublemaking.  Furthermore, they’re always comfortable and there’s never a bad time to wear them.
