CARS: How To Pimp Your Ride Cartoon Style
The limits of your imagination is the only restraint when it comes to accessorising your car; cartoon style. People around the world have taken their vehicles and accessorised them to look exactly like their cartoon counterparts, with outstanding results.
Cars from Cars
If you’re looking for the inspiration to accessorise your ride you don’t have to look further than the smash hit film ‘Cars’ which has spawned a host of real-life lookalikes that actually work and take to the road with style and just as much personality as the cars in the film. Mater the tow truck, or Lightning McQueen, whatever your favourite character from Cars you can get it accessorised at a professional car studio.
Who you Gonna Call?
This may be one of the easiest cars to accessorise, unlike the cars from ‘Cars’ which will need a substantial amount of body-mod, the Ectomobile from Ghostbusters is classic example of adding accessories and gadgets and gizmos to get it right. Of course, you will have to own a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Ambulance to get started.
Pink Panther – Classic Elegance
The Pink Panther is a classic cartoon, and the space age vehicle driven by that elegant cat, would make a snappy addition if you were thinking about accessorising your car. You need a racy car to begin and a bit of bodywork, but after that, the only accessory of a can of bright pink spray paint.
Transform Your Truck – Transformers Style
You’d be amazed at what they can do with hydraulics and cars these days. Although it might be difficult to drive as Optimus Prime from the Transformers after full transformation, you can make a good start by accessorising your truck cab.
Go, Go Thunderbirds!
You have not lived until you’ve played Thunderbirds, but if you’re a little too old to run around as a cartoon hero, then you can always accessorise your car to resemble the Thunderbird 4 that raced onto our screens and was always ready to save the world with just one rallying cry.
Take To the Streets of Gotham
When it comes to Batman and the various incarnations of the Batmobile, you can choose from the 1966 Batmobile, compete with orange trim, or you can indulge yourself with the sleek black stylings of the later day heroes of Gotham City. I’m just glad that DC never allowed Superman to drive, although that may have been one of the coolest cars in the DC universe.
Yabba-Dabba-Doo! Fancy Flintstone Footwork
Does this vehicle actually drive or do you have to use Flintstone foot power to pedal down the high street? While this does not qualify as a real-life cartoon car, it is superbly done and went on display in 2010 at MegaCon.
No matter what style of cartoon car you’ve set your mind on, with a little work, and some professional help you could be driving around in your fantasy vehicle. From Scooby Doo and The Magic School Bus to the high-speed Star Wars Landspeeder driven by Luke, the only limit is the imagination of the animator, and your car could be an animated road warrior.
