For today’s Fitness Advice, we are lucky to feature fitness model, mother of 3 boys and business owner Bunny Azzopardi.
After seeing her pictures you’ll be surprised to hear this – she’s 44. And she looks amazing.
We had a chance to talk to her about her career, her fitness advice and what she thinks looks good on men in the interview below.
Tell us about yourself. How did you get started in the fitness industry? What are some of the challenges you’ve experienced in your career? What are your accomplishments to date? Also, what are some of the things outside of the health and fitness industry you are involved with now?
I actually don’t really know how I got started in the Fitness industry (lol).
I was already a gym freak and 3 years ago I decided to take a chance and joined a competition – to my surprise I took first place in every category.
From there, I just kept getting calls to do photo shoots.
One thing led to another and before you know it… I’m a fitness model appearing in magazines :).
To date I’ve been featured in STRONG Fitness magazine, Oxygen, Inside Fitness, Sweat RX, Sweat Equity, and a few on line features.
I have been on two covers to date – Sweat RX Italy and the STRONG Fitness Training Guide.
I’ve also done a few competitions since then, placing at least top 5 in each one.
I think the biggest challenges are trying to balance home life along with training and modeling. It takes up almost all of my time, so there’s not much room for anything else after that!
If you could break it down to 3 pieces of advice, what health and fitness advice would you give our readers who are just starting out? What 3 pieces of advice would you give those readers who are on a more advanced level of fitness? And for those that are in the middle?
The biggest thing for me when I see people who are just starting out or trying to lose weight, is that they want a quick fix.
I always tell anyone that asks me that they need to just trust the process. A quick fix may work at first, but it usually doesn’t last.
It has to be a lifestyle change – something that you can live with and is realistic.
For people in the middle…. keep going!!
I’m not sure if I’m at the stage where I can give advice to the more advanced yet :).
This is for everyone: no matter what level you’re at, always keep learning!
Finally, at ESM we’re all about style. Describe what men’s style you like best on a man? Does being in the fitness industry affect your preference?
When it comes to style there’s always one thing that comes to mind: most men can wear a suit, but one also has to have good casual style as well.
It’s a make or break kind of thing – being in the Fitness Industry hasn’t really changed my preference for men.
It’s not really about being shredded for me. It’s always personality, humor, charisma, confidence, kindness, and being a gentleman.
That being said, if I can bench more than you we may have a problem ;).
