For this week’s installment of “FITNESS ADVICE”, we’re proud to feature entrepreneur, model and future Bikini Fitness Competitor, Hannah Nicole.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your career in the fitness industry
I first got involved in the fitness industry when I worked the LA Fit Expo with one of my sponsors Cali Muscle.
I met so many amazing and inspiring people and heard so many incredible stories that it really made me want to change my lifestyle.
Never in a million years would I have ever thought I would be competing in my first show this year. After I attended the expo I decided it was time to start my new lifestyle and have been consistent with it ever since. When I say “new lifestyle” I mean eating healthy, working out consistently, taking the proper supplements, and giving my body enough sleep and rest.
It can be difficult in the beginning getting used to the changes, but I firmly believe in the saying “It takes 21 days to make or break a habit.” I have faced challenges with my new lifestyle that have made me a lot stronger now. When I wake up every single morning I have a huge smile on my face and remind myself everyday that I am here to help and inspire the world.
My trainer Andrew Gutierrez (who has taught me everything I know today) and I have started an amazing fitness movement called the “Open Arms Movement”. This movement has been developed to welcome all levels of fitness (example: lifestyle, competition, body building, weight loss) with open arms into our fitness family.
We want everyone to know they are not alone on their journey.
Before I had worked the expo I had been going through some very rough and scary times. I reflect back and look at the person I was and it simply amazes me more and more every single day seeing the progress from living the Fitness Lifestyle.
We advise everyone to:
- Surround yourself with the same mentality and goals as yourself
- Laugh everyday
- Love everyday
- Appreciate everyday
Some of you may be wondering if I do anything outside of fitness and my answer is “Yes!” I am currently in the process of getting my Real Estate license and am am a full-time published model. I am also a licensed cosmetologist and lover of animals.
Here’s Hannah’s fitness advice for our readers:
If you are starting out on your new journey, my three pieces of advice would be to: 1) stay focused, 2) surround yourself with people on the same journey as you and 3) don’t give up.
For those of you in the who have been working out for a bit, keep up the hard work! As you are starting to see those results and new muscles everyday you are going to just keep needing more. It’s an addiction, stay addicted.
Last but not least, for all the advanced fitness readers out there – much respect for getting where you all are today! The process can be very hard at times so seeing people with the same goals and mindset as myself is very inspiring.
Finally, at ESM we’re all about style. Describe what men’s style you like best on a man? Does being in the fitness industry affect your preference?
I am all about a guy who knows how to dress nicely – someone who can get down and dirty, but still clean up well.
I have never really had a “type”, but he must have an awesome personality to match those good looks!
Being in the fitness industry has definitely changed my preferences when it comes to dating. Living the lifestyle I live, I want someone whom can relate to my ways of life.
