Emad Tariq Hussein bringing back some old school flavor with a modern twist.

If you’re a regular on Instagram and a men’s style guy, we’re almost 100% certain you’ve run into images from today’s Style feature.

His name is Emad Tariq Hussein and he’s a designer from Dubai who specializes in customized men’s suiting.

It’s obvious he’s got a passion for what he does and we’re big fans of his personal style, so we were fortunate to interview him and talk to him about his business and of course, his style.

Check out the interview below.

You describe yourself as someone with a “passion for designing suits and accessories”. Tell us about your career, how you got to where you are today and how you initially got into this line of work.

I have always been inspired by mobster movies (i.e. The Godfather, Casino, Goodfellas, etc.) since I was young.

I would look around in different stores and try to match those designs from the olden days, the 70’s and the 80’s but it was very hard.

So when I grew older, I decided to hire a tailor who would customize my suits according to my designs.

Tell us a little bit about the style of suiting you design. How much does it typically cost to create a suit? Do you have a particular clientele that you design your products for? If so, describe the clientele you are trying to target with your designs.

I have been designing for almost 5 years now and I got really deep into the details of constructing a suit – from fabric, to the buttons, to the cuffs, to the lining, etc.

I am working on launching my own tailoring service called “Black Parliament”.  It’s basically a very personalized tailor who would come to your house or office to take your measurements and create clothes for you.

I am mostly focusing on business men, bankers, CEO’s, Directors – men on the higher level.

A single jacket would be priced around $900 to $1000.

ESM is all about style. If you could describe your personal style in one sentence, what would it be?

A perfect balance between vintage and modern.

What advice would you give readers who are also trying to develop their own career in men’s fashion?

If you are in it just to make quick money, you are not going to succeed.  Love what you do and people will see your passion in your brand.

Rocking that 80's Wall Street flavor - but with a slimmer cut.

What are some of your favorite looks you’ve designed in the past? Are there any looks you are favoring now?

Yes, high waisted trousers, double breasted jackets and double breasted waistcoats.

When you work with a client, how does the process work? Is it consultative or do you really work together with your clients to develop their unique style identity?

Well it’s an entire process where we require our clients to be involved – we need them to choose every detail from fabrics, buttons, collars, etc.

Each suit takes about 80 hours to produce, with different tailors to make your jacket, trousers, shirts and waist coat.

Oddly enough, this is what we would imagine ourselves wearing if we were in Dubai too.

What does the future hold for Emad Tariq Hussein?

To extend our services by visiting different countries. So if you are not able to visit us in Dubai, we can visit you.
