STYLE: Gucci men’s quilted jacket, spring/summer 2012
So we’ve been eyeing this quilted jacket ever since Gucci released their Spring/Summer advertising campaign in all of the men’s magazines we frequent.
The color looked good, the fit looked awesome and we especially loved the dual zippers (typically used for driving jackets). Unfortunately, the only thing we couldn’t get over was the model’s weird looking eyebrows (sorry, we had to say it).
But in the most recent issue of GQ (America), we fell in love with their latest photo shoot of Michael Fassbender shot by Mario Testino and it featured the quilted Gucci jacket in one of their pictures.
Presumably, with all the gear that Michael Fassbender was wearing he was getting ready to go ride a motorcycle (hopefully not a scooter).
At $4,900 however, I am not sure I would be able to live with myself if I a) dropped my bike and b) ripped through a jacket that almost costs 5 g’s.
Which also brings up our only issue with this jacket.
To afford it, you either have to not eat (or pay rent) for a few months, make a 6-figure salary or you have to wait for it to come out on bluefly.com.
Is worth it? In our opinion - hell yeah it is.
