Have we ever mentioned how much we love Miami?
- The weather this time of year is awesome – it’s a mix between tropical and breezy
- “People watching” in the world famous South Beach strip can keep you busy for days
- If you’re into supercars, all you need to do is pull up a chair for a meal at one of the restaurants on Collins Avenue and inevitably you’re going to see a Lamborghini or Bentley drive by.
We just got back from a trip to Miami and fell in love with the city even more than the last time we were there.
So in honor of one of our favorite cities in the world, we thought we would give you some style (and travel) advice for the next time you visit.
First thing when you wake up – hit the beach or a pool party
If you went out last night (and went big), there’s a 95% chance you’re waking up around 11 am since the clubs in Miami close at around 4 or 5 in the morning.
If by some miracle you wake up before 11 am and can get your ass in gear to make it on the beach by 11:30 am, you’re one step ahead of the game because everyone else is still asleep and you’ve got the pick of the litter for beach chairs:
And hopefully you’ve made a reservation for Yardbird for lunch:
Alternatively, if you’re too lazy to move from one place to another and just want to party like a rock star during the day, we recommend you go to one of Miami’s famous pool parties – where you can get shit-faced drunk with some of the most beautiful people in the world.
Our personal favorite is Hyde Beach at the SLS:
Just make sure to bring a credit card with a lot of room on it.
For both options, we would recommend the following outfit:
One word: pockets.
You’re totally going to need them to carry all your gear during the day.
We’re big fans of keeping it casual during the day with a nice t-shirt to complement your shorts.
Especially since there is a 60% chance of you losing your shirt for whatever reason.
We love the classic look of these kicks and it will pair well with your new outfit from J.Crew.
They’re also more comfortable to walk around in than flip-flops in the event you want to tour around South Beach.
Classic sunnies with blue lenses to match your timeless style and newly purchased outfit.
Have dinner at one of Miami’s famous restaurants
Miami is known to have some of the best restaurants in the world and we’re preferential to the places we can only find in Miami.
One of our favorite restaurants of all time is Ola Miami:
Just take it easy on the cheese bread because if you have too many, you won’t be able to make it out later that evening.
Our outfit choice for dinner would be something like this Washington Plain Blue ensemble from Suitsupply:
We’d drop the tie, of course.
Going out in Miami
And thus the vicious cycle starts all over again as you decide where you want to go for the evening.
Miami is known for their nightlife and is well-known for their world famous clubs and lounges.
All we know is, we would wear something like this Madison Blue Plain suit from Suitsupply:
We might casual it up with a t-shirt and sneaks instead of a tie and slip-ons.
Damn. Is it too soon to book our next trip back to Miami?
