What’s the best way to spend your Thanksgiving?  With ninjas.

That’s what we did this afternoon before the feasting festivities associated with today’s national holiday.  Ninja Assassin is 1 part Casino Royale, 2 parts Bourne Identity, 1 part Matrix, 2 shots of 300  and lot of gore and violence.

No really – you can pretty much see where different scenes were inspired from.  Fortunately, those movies are all awesome classic ESM movies!  So who cares?!?!

The plotline is fairly simple – a rogue ninja who is trying to avenge the death of his friend at the hands of his former secret ninja assassin family helps an agent who has discovered the families existence.  Actually, it may be simple for people who are actually ninjas and not for normal folks.

And the acting?  Well, in between the movie gore and violence the acting was pretty good and the main character played by international/Korean pop star Rain was very believable.  The best line in the movie was when someone said, “He doesn’t look like an assassin.  He looks like he should be in a boy band.”

So hilarious.
