I have a friend who doesn’t like to try new restaurants.
Actually, let me clarify – he doesn’t like trying new restaurants unless someone he trusts gives the restaurant a high recommendation.
If you really thought about it, that type of thinking is pretty smart. You don’t take a ton of risks with new places and you are guaranteed a good meal all the time. With the advent of Yelp! and other social media websites, we all do the same thing but in a different way.
We want to know what we are getting into before we do it.
But what if you had a good friend that was a chef? What if your friend was a chef that was famous and on The Food Network? Would you trust that person’s suggestion beyond anyone else’s?
I would – they love talking about food and I definitely love eating.
The Food Network’s new show The Best Thing I Ever Ate is exactly what we are talking about – popular TV chefs/hosts that reveal their favorite places to eat (when it’s not their own place). From snacks, to spicy food, to main dishes, each show is like a “tell all” of where the best chefs get their grub on.
My advice – don’t watch the show when you’re hungry or if you just ate. You may just end up driving to the middle of nowhere just to get the same exact thing they are talking about on the show. Worse yet – you might eat again after having a full meal.
For more information on the show, you can visit them online at the official Food Network website.
Now go get that deep fried hot dog at Rawley’s.
