Women have Louis Vuitton, I have Tom Ford.

If being excited to go to the first Tom Ford store on the west coast is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

Yesterday I got to finally check out the latest Tom Ford store at the City Center mall (“Crystals”) in Las Vegas.  The mall itself is pretty amazing – it’s a fantastic blend of modern architecture and organic design.  From the giant wooden frame that holds one of the dining areas for Maestro’s in the air to the whirlpool art installation, everything in the City Center mall makes you wonder how the hell people come up with all these new and innovative ideas (for a mall).

But I digress.

As most of you know, I am a HUGE Tom Ford fan and I could not wait to see a lot of his pieces in person.  When I walked into the store, I got to see his suits, shoes and accessories in a well designed, cozy atmosphere.  I got to feel what the fabric really felt like.  I had a chance to see all of his accessories and sunglasses and how they would pair with everything else.

I also got confirmation that I need to purchase a Tom Ford suit in my lifetime.

Even though the people working there were nice, I honestly got a pang of “I need to make more money” because a $1,200 pair of shoes is still way beyond my pay scale.  Maybe selling my liver isn’t such a bad idea after all.

Aside from money insecurities, the only other bad experience in the store was listening to 2 or 3 doucebags talk about how awesome they were.  My wife even caught one guy saying, “I love the James Bond sunglasses.  I should get them since I already have the car.”

In any case, the store and all of the items inside of it lived up to my every expectation.  If you’ve got a penchant for beautiful men’s clothes yourself, you should check it out the next time you’re in Las Vegas.
